FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, November 21, 2025
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) and the NDWA Staff Union, represented by CWA Local 1180, announced today that the parties have reached a tentative agreement on three-year collective bargaining agreement that will be in effect through June 2028. The new agreement will now be submitted to the Union members for ratification.
Both sides remain committed to working collaboratively to advance a workplace where workers can thrive while advocating for the respect, recognition, and rights for the 2.2 million domestic workers across the country who provide essential care work in homes and communities.
As part of the bargaining process, the parties also reached agreement on terms for an organizational realignment necessitated by the national trend of philanthropic decline affecting nonprofit organizations.
NDWA and CWA Local 1180 look forward to continuing their shared mission of building power for domestic workers while navigating the current challenging environment.
The NDWA Staff Union-CWA Local 1180 represents 78 members of the organization’s 125 staff members or roughly 62%.
