About the NDWA South Bay Chapter

Our chapter, NDWA South Bay (Northern California, within the San Francisco Bay Area), has been organizing domestic workers since 2019. We have built a community of workers and allies across Santa Clara County and San Mateo County. We are building a multilingual, multiracial membership, united across backgrounds, languages and domestic work industries in our drive for justice!

Since our founding, we have had countless member meetings, events, and social gatherings, allowing us to connect in person and collaborate with other organizations.

We are proud to be part of the California Domestic Workers Coalition, and to work closely with our partners throughout the state to enforce the California Domestic Workers Bill of Rights and win new rights and protections for our workforce.

Activity in the South Bay Chapter

In the South Bay Chapter, we are making domestic work more just and dignified!

  • The Chapter holds multilingual membership meetings on a regular basis, as well as leadership and workforce development trainings.
  • We are part of the Santa Clara County Wage Theft Coalition.
  • As part of the California Domestic Workers Coalition, we are currently in the middle of a state-wide campaign to win SB 321, the Health and Safety for All Workers Act. SB 321 aims to remove the exclusion of domestic workers from Calilfornia’s occupational health and safety protections. Join us in making this historic bill a reality for the 300,000 domestic workers in California!
