On November 30th, Harris County Commissioners voted to establish the Harris County Essential Workers Board (HCEWB), the first board of its kind in the U.S. to be composed entirely of frontline workers. The HCEWB will give workers a voice in determining workplace health and safety policies and set a strong standard for similar legislation around the country. NDWA’s Houston chapter and affiliate Fe y Justicia were leaders in the Always Essential Coalition that made this victory possible.
