May Day Strong - Powered by Care - May 1 Across North Carolina

Join NDWA’s North Carolina chapter in Raleigh on May 1 for a powerful day of action, as we say no to business as usual; no work, no school, no shopping.

Care workers, parents, families, and supporters are coming together to make our demands clear: North Carolina lawmakers must say YES to fully funding care and early education for working families and children, and NO to devastating cuts and rollbacks to our democracy.

On May 1, we will gather together as a contingent of child care providers, home care workers, and care advocates to raise our vision for a better care economy. We will join tens of thousands of people at the North Carolina Association of Educators rally, and hundreds of thousands of people across the country as part of the May Day Strong movement.

Let’s show our people what’s possible when we stand up for each other.

Register here to join us—we’ll be in touch soon with meet-up details and more information about the day.

A core principle behind all NDWA events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
