North Carolina care workers are joining the May Day Strong movement to unite with hundreds of thousands of people across the country, and demand lawmakers pass a budget that invests in care, not cuts.

May Day lands right in the middle of critical state budget negotiations, and child care workers, home care workers, working families, and allies are coming together to push NC lawmakers for three urgent asks:

• Funding for a statewide child care subsidy floor that pays providers closer to the true cost of care
• Fully funding the Medicaid program and setting a living wage floor for home care workers
• Legislation that ensures public dollars are used for care, not for the Trump administration’s mass deportation agenda.
