Position Summary:

NDWA Labs is the innovation arm of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, one of the country’s leading progressive social movement organizations. At NDWA Labs, we are building products that transform domestic work jobs into good jobs by bringing respect, living wages, and benefits to an invisible, undervalued, and vulnerable part of the economy. Rather than optimizing within the status quo, NDWA Labs leverages tech to disrupt power and fundamentally change the ways in which work is organized and compensated for the millions of women and immigrants in the domestic work industry.

We are looking for an ambitious Product Manager to lead efforts to build and launch new products. You will manage the product expansion of the Alia platform (a product that makes it easy for domestic workers to access benefits such as paid time off) to serve additional use cases, including benefits for domestic workers in major US cities and for top gig work companies.

The Problem We’re Solving: The way we work is changing. More and more people are working independently without the economic scaffolding benefits such as paid sick days or workers compensation. The rise of the gig economy and freelancing is widening the massive hole in our social safety net. We are harnessing the power of design and technology to finally do something about it for millions of low-wage workers who power our economy. Without a bold plan and new solutions, it won’t end well for most of us.

Who You Are: You are a seasoned product manager who can own the product roadmap and ensure delivery with engineering teams. You have a record of shipping successful products and owning the cycle end-to-end. You are passionate about delivering useful customer experience and hitting metrics.

  • Collaborate with the Head of Product to create product roadmap and ensure delivery
  • Partner with design and engineering teams to create solutions to challenging problems
  • Create and maintain documentations such as product requirement documents
  • Help with prioritizing and defining product features with stakeholders, designers, and engineers
  • Understand constraints such as legal, compliance, and data privacy
  • Improve product features based on feedback through surveys, analytics, and A/B testing
  • Work with the Head of Product to shape long-term product vision
  • Take on other roles (analysis, product operations, business development, etc.) as necessary
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product management for consumer-facing products
  • Comfortable with making tough tradeoff decisions in stakeholder-rich environments
  • Ability to communicate technical subjects to a nontechnical audience
  • Experience shipping products while working in remote, distributed teams
  • Demonstrated success in shipping products end-to-end
  • Experience working in highly ambiguous environments with fast shifting conditions
  • Knowledge of and experience with agile development methodologies and tools
  • Ability to learn quickly and wear multiple hats

Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in CS, business/finance, or STEM, or equivalent work experiences/aptitude
  • Experience in working with constraints such as legal, compliance, and data privacy
  • Experience in working with underserved populations (Non-English speaking, low to no tech literacy, and unbanked)
  • Working knowledge of finance and accounting
  • Fluency in Spanish

  • The salary range for this position is $100-115K based on experience.
  • Full and generous health, dental, vision and paid time off benefit coverage included for employee and immediate family members.

Women, People of Color, People with Disabilities and LGBTQ people strongly urged to apply. Applications will only be accepted electronically.  Please submit a cover letter & resume to https://domesticworkers.bamboohr.com/jobs/view.php?id=124
