Local and State Demands to Support Immigrants in the Face of Federal Attacks*

Join this interactive workshop to learn about key demands organizers can make of local and state labor agencies to strengthen protections for immigrants in this time of peril. We will cover how agencies should prepare for increased retaliation against immigrant workers; prepare for aggressive federal immigration enforcement; and create a proactive communications strategy supporting the workplace rights of immigrant workers. While not all of these strategies are possible in all areas of the country, we share them for the areas where they are an option and to set a bar for how government agencies should respond.
