People of color and working class communities are disproportionately impacted by environmental crises and disasters. Many domestic workers are at risk of eviction or having their utilities shut off due to the impact of climate change. Low wage and undocumented workers are more likely to be impacted at a higher rate, negatively resulting in their ability to find new work and fear seeking assistance or resources from federal, state, and local government. In this workshop, we’ll share strategies that seek expanded access to relief for domestic workers by collaborating between labor, community and environmental justice groups in order to restore the balance of our lives and communities.
