On February 7, the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts hosted a panel on the role of film in social change, which included the writer/director and one of the stars of The Help, along with the National Domestic Workers Alliance's Director, Ai-jen Poo. Tate Taylor, director and writer of "The Help" Octavia Spencer discusses how the ensemble cast conveyed the film's message to viewers. Al-jen Poo, director and co-founder of the NDWA, discusses organizing workers to effect change. |
