Just like restaurant workers and taxi drivers, home care workers are among a cadre of employees that cannot unionize but are still constantly in need for services. They are often victims of wage theft and subject to long work hours while not being properly compensated with pay or benefits. A new campaign has started to highlight home care workers and aims to fight for their right to unionize. Jodeen Olquin-Taylor is the lead organizer for Caring Across Generations and Marlene Champion is a care worker and organized for Domestic Workers United. They share their compelling tales.
